Regeneration
We are building on the foundation that the apostle and prophets laid with Christ the chief corner. Eph2:20 This work is an inward work, where by those things, that have been an offence to God due to our past sin, is cleansed. The Spirit of God convicts our conscience of our sin. The law of God contained in the Ten Commandments is called a school master in Galatians 3:24
Through the instamentality of the law of God that we are judged by, Holy Spirit shows us that we are guilty. By the drawing power of God we acknowledge our guilt and seek HIM for pardon. This is the work of the Spirit to convict, persuade and draw us unto Christ. The scriptures says that we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7 The result of the Spirit’s working in the heart is regarded as his workmanship spoken of in Ephesians 2:10. The former life given to the flesh is overcome by the love of God shed forth in our hearts, subduing our rebellion. Romans 5:5
We, for the first time, begin to have communion with our Father and by the Spirit we enter into a new and wonderful dimension of Spiritual joy and rejoicing. The old way of life that was centered on our own lusts and pleasure is replaced with a heavenly communion of God’s peace and acceptance. This is the working of the Spirit whereby the old has passed away and behold all things have become new!
This inward charge results in a change of our affections, and how we see things in our life. The worldly things of material possessions, ambitions, amusements, and activities melt away in the presence of our New life that the Spirit has started. Everything is different. We have been recreated into a new and living way that is rooted in the discovery of the divine life of God. 2 Peter 1:4 At first it is usual that the change in us is not readily understood but through walking with God, in Christ, it becomes more apparent and our understanding is heightened.
